9 Ways to be happy

9 ways to be happy and Make Something of your Life

Gordon B. Hinckley

1.Being Grateful
2.Being Smart
3 Be involved in Good work

1. Being grateful can mean lots of thing but an example can be no matter how good or bad you think life is,wake up each day and be thankful for life.someone somewhere else is fighting to survive. Also be grateful for small thing, big things and every thing in between. There is always something to be thankful for.Like my mom always tells me be grateful for what you have because others do not have what you have so appreciate it. "Stop over thinking , stop worrying stop complaining life is short so always be thankful". This is basically saying live your life with no regrets to very thankful for being In this world.
2. In order to become intelligent, the first thing that you need to do is to realize how ignorant you are. Because you can read all the best books in the world and go to the best colleges, but if you are not educating yourself on the things that make you ignorant, and if you're not taking the necessary steps to reduce your ignorant actions and thoughts, then you will always be ignorant, even though you are very knowledgeable and educated.Define the actions and the thought processes that are proven to produce the most positive results that are based on a particular set of circumstances. And these intelligent actions and thought processes have to be relevant and used by society today so that everyone can see the improvements and the positive outcomes and benefits that come from these particular intelligent actions. No matter how many people make fun of you, for being smart you will always smarter than that one person who like to punk on you all the time.

3.Be involved in good work,  During difficult economic times, the point of view that 'any work is good work' tends to hold sway for the very compelling reason that unemployment is damaging. Yet recent studies have shown that 'bad work' is even worse for physical and mental health than unemployment. As employers and as a society, we need to take a view on the kind of work that we aspire to create, sustain and defend.Such as being involved

5.Be True
Everyone wants to belong, or be a part of something bigger than themselves, but it's important to follow your heart and be true to yourself in the process.Whatever you want to do, do with full passion and work really hard towards it. Don't look anywhere else. There will be a few distractions, but if you can be true to yourself, you will be successful for sure. Virat Kohli

6. Be Positive
Work hard for what you want because it won't come to you without a fight. You have to be strong and courageous and know that you can do anything you put your mind to. If somebody puts you down or criticizes you, just keep on believing in yourself and turn it into something positive.Such as Always Do Your Best. Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret. Don Miguel Ruiz

Do you sometimes wonder how to be positive in your thoughts and actions, especially when you are unhappy and unsatisfied, or when life is difficult and tough? For many, it is difficult to be positive, even when things go well.

7. Be Humble
I write about leadership, high performance teams and adaptability.
Opinions expressed by Forbes Contributors are their own.
Humble people can receive a bad rap. Humility is frequently associated with being too passive, submissive or insecure, but this couldn’t be any further from the truth.
Instead, humble people are quite the opposite—confident and competent in themselves so much that, as a result, they seek to self-actualize by helping theirs. Humble people are still self-efficacious; they just don’t feel the impetus to boast about themselves but instead, let their actions speak for their ideals. To be humble is not to think less of oneself, but to think of oneself less.

To help identify what humble looks like (and how you can adopt greater humility for yourself. After all, who doesn’t need greater humility?), here are 13 habits of humble people. The whole course of human history may depend on a change of heart in one solitary and even humble individual - for it is in the solitary mind and soul of the individual that the battle between good and evil is waged and ultimately won or lost.

8.Be Still
When we are free from outside noise or turbulence, we are able to hear the still small voice of God's Spirit as he comes to comfort and guide us through our trials. Some of the noise we experience that could be blocking our ability to feel God’s presence is our own worry. When we learn to change our thoughts from negative to positive, we are more able to feel God’s love because we are in harmony with him. The noise and turbulence is replaced by a sweet melody of peace.Sometimes when difficulties arise, we allow the anger and frustrations from those trials to push us into violence, or we try to force our will upon the Lord. Neither one of these choices will bring us peace. When conflicts come and we are untroubled by them because of our faith in God, only then can we know peace.

9.Be Prayerful
I don't know about you, but I pray best when chaos surrounds me and pain sears every breath I take. During these times, my prayers almost vibrate with urgent requests and heartfelt cries to God, "Let my son live; let my sister walk."
When blessings abound, however, lethargy often tags along, and I find myself slipping into a kind of spiritual complacency. During these "good times," my prayers sound prerecorded and passionless. Sometimes I even hate the sound of my own voice mumbling prayers learned long ago.
To battle this apathy, I have tried many things. Most formal religions create rituals that specify times, practices and texts for praying. This is probably done to provide some kind of order to our lives.

The 9 ways concluding words by Gordon B. Hinckley
"There they are, nine Be’s which, if observed, will bring handsome dividends to any young man or woman. They will add sparkle to your days and peace to your nights. They will save you from heartache and pain. They will bring purpose into your life and give direction to your energies.
They will bring you friends of your own kind. They will protect you from associations that would pull you down and deflect you from your course.
This is a time to be happy. This is a time to feel joy and make friends and enjoy the best this life has to offer. What I have tried to put forth .... are simply a few suggestions, gained from many years of living, to help you do just that. The world will tell that certain kinds of things will bring you happiness – things such as popularity and possessions and satisfying your baser desires.
If today you find yourself only drifting as a leaf in a stream, get hold of yourself and determine you will do better.
At railroad grade crossing, signs of warning were once common. Two cross arms were emblazoned with the words, “Stop, Look, Listen.” They meant that a train could be roaring down the tracks and you had better be alert.
I was riding a train in the Midwest years ago. I looked out the window to my left. A road ran parallel to the tracks. A car with a boy and a girl was speeding down the road a little faster than the train. The car moved ahead until I can no longer see it. Suddenly, the locomotive whistle sounded and the train screeched to a halt as the brakes gripped the wheels. We looked out the window on to the other side. There was a mangled car. Police cars soon converged, followed by the ambulance. The boy and girl were both dead. The road they were traveling crossed the tracks. They did not stop, look, or listen. It all happened in an instant.

The better way to Be is the way of these nine Be’s.

The years will inevitably pass, and pass quickly. Today is your day of resolution. Promise yourself to make something good of (your) precious life."
